XDS MVIP 24-Port High Density Analog Line Interface Boards

The Analog Line Interface boards are the primary building blocks of the XDS boards. The High Density Analog boards feature 24 ports, giving you more capacity per slot, and making these boards ideal for applications where many ports are essential.

XDS 24-port High Density Station boards and XDS 24-port High Density Loop Start boards are available.

The XDS High Density Analog Line Interface boards include DTMF detection and generation, energy detection for each port, local tone resources for each port, AGC and gain control for each port, and all standard call progress tones.

For maximum configuration flexibility, the XDS High Density Station and Loop Start boards are also available as 12-port boards, which may be mixed for a total of 12 Loop Start and 12 Station ports all in a single board slot.

Both of the High Density Analog boards are enhanced MVIP-90 compliant, and work with any other MVIP compatible boards. Drivers available include DOS, OS/2, UNIXWARE, Windows NT, and Solaris.

The XDS Line Interface boards address the inherent limitations of the PC architecture. Practically all analog telephone interface boards require a negative power supply of either -5V or -12V. PCs can typically provide only 0.5 Amp or less of either of these voltages. In order to avoid exceeding this limit when multiple boards are used, a local power supply located on each XDS board provides the required negative voltage. Because of this, port capacity is not limited by the PC power supply, so you can build your application to the size you need.

The Line Interface boards utilize on-board intelligence to handle line control, supervisory and tone signal functions with minimal host intervention, so that developers may use their valuable PC resources for their application, not to control analog line boards.

The Line Interface boards are smart boards that do not need associated voice boards to function. For developers, this means easy implementation with fewer slots. Yet when necessary, voice boards may be added via the MVIP to provide voice applications. The Line Interface boards are 8/16 ISA compliant.

Station Interface - The XDS High Density Station Interface board functions as an interface to analog telephones. The Station Interface is a battery feed port that supplies talk battery but is also capable of applying ring voltage and message waiting voltage to the line. All normal line status and control functions are provided. Battery is applied at all times and current detection is always available.

The High Density Station board also has the ability to light standard message waiting indicators.

Loop Start - The XDS High Density Loop Start board is connected to loop lines from the telephone company to receive incoming and place outgoing calls.

The High Density Loop Start board provides all normal line status monitoring. It furnishes battery sink and current detection when off-hook. When on-hook, ring detection is available.

Technology covered under patents 5420852, 5341368 and others.
