AG Communications selects AMTELCO XDS

AG Communications selects AMTELCO XDS for control and switching in new Roameo Digital Wireless office telephone system.

AG Communications systems Roameo Digital Wireless TDMA system selected the AMTELCO XDS BRI (Basic Rate Interface), the XDS High Density Loop Start board and the XDS 4/2 Wire E&M board for control of the transmitter, for interfacing to Legacy PBX's and for interfacing to standard network CO lines.

AMTELCO XDS and AG Communications worked closely for over one year to develop special features and interfaces to help make the new Roameo system the most advanced TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) based digital wireless telephone system.

Roameo was recently given full commercial status. It was tested successfully in systems and in field trials by service providers, including AT&T Wireless Services (WOS). It provides support for standard telephone systems technology, including existing analog cellular or digital TDMA handsets. The Roameo system supports up to 2,000 registered users and up to 300 digital traffic channels. Roameo is a CTI based system that uses "of the shelf" CTI boards from AMTELCO XDS. AG Communications systems have been able to keep the cost of this new technology down yet provide exceptional performance through the use of the AMTELCO CTI Technology.
